This movie is horrible. I’ve waited a few weeks to watch it and the way the two talk in real life and how they’re in a real relationship gave me hope that they could use their real relationship experience and chemistry to make this movie work.

Wow was I wrong. This movie consist of two main actors that were not only NOT funny 98% of the time but also they had no chemistry. It is sort of a love story with a twist but the twist was weak and the two main actors had nothing going for them.

Whoever made the commercials that made this movie interesting and help tricked the viewers to watch it aka ME and I’m guessing you guys, I think that guy should be hired in replaced for the director that directed this movie because obviously the commercial guy saw the flaw and in short made it look good in the commercials.

This goes for many movies out there. Disappointed? Definitely. I’m half way through it and I’m close to throwing it out. I really hope their real relationship has a billion times more chemistry than what they showed in this movie because they’ll need it….

Perhaps I watched this movie expecting too much since I love both Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. What could go wrong in a romantic comedy starring these actors? A few things but the most noticeable was the lack of a good story.

There were some snappy dialogues but the the movie as a whole fell flat. Weren’t Aniston and Butler rumored to have a romantic relationship off screen? Where was that spark onscreen? I know the male character was suppose to be a drunken gambling mess after the divorce but it appeared as if Gerard Butler really was in a drunken binge to block out the memory of this film. I thought he did a much better job in The Ugly Truth (Widescreen Edition).

The story was full of holes and painful to watch in spots. Just know that it follows the usual formula of boy and girl fall madly in love, they break up, boy and girl are forced back together, they are chased by bad guys, and then boy and girl fall back in love. The end.

What was the best part of this film? That would be Jennifer Aniston’s co-worker at the Daily news who had a thing for her. Very funny stuff but that still left 100 minutes of the film to suffer through. My recommendation is to give this one a miss.

I went to the theater the other night with my friend, expecting to see “The Last Song”, but our immature teenager brains took over, and instead we slipped into this movie. So us seeing it, and this review, is by chance, but I figured the experience of watching this movie, between frantically giggling and checking for anyone who saw us slip in, was worth a review.

The premise of the story is hashed and blown over, like the director had the idea of a divorced couple thrust into each other’s life before he thought of how and why. You know the previews- Nicole Hurley (Aniston) and Milo Boyd (Butler) are an estranged, hateful divorced couple who find each other coincidentally pushed together by cause-effect situations as Nicole jumps bail and Milo, now that guy who happens to hunt down idiots who jump bail, has to arrest her.

What follows is your predictable light, if not strange wannabe romantic comedy slash thriller slash mystery. Honestly… maybe it’s because I technically didn’t pay for this movie, but I just didn’t understand it. There were too many characters and too many plot twists for it all to make sense. But despite its failure of a plot, it struggles to be funny and touching, and although I didn’t love this movie, I have to say it had that. We all know Aniston’s and Butler’s characters get together at the end, as the couple goes through quite a lot (and I mean a lot) to realize they made mistakes and still like each other.

And although Gerard is still cute with his scruffy exterior and muscled arms, and Jennifer is the charming girl caught up in a love-hate relationship with her ex as the two actors try their best, they can’t save the movie. But look at me, sounding all dramatic about a movie I slipped into; honestly, it’s a good movie. It’s got some funny parts (there were some guys in the back of the near-empty theater practically bleating with laughter at some scenes) and the re-growing love between Nicole and Milo is cute, yet some of the crude humor and the confusion of what genre this movie belongs in (there’s cops, blood, and a kidnapper, but at the same time it tries to be funny and romantic… confused much?) brings it down a notch or two.

But let me stop rambling. Over all, it’s worth a see (or, in some cases, a snuck viewing ;P) and it isn’t as bad as you think. It’s just not as enjoyable as it could have been, and feels as muddled as the viewer at one or two points. But hey, not all movies have to be perfect. Some movies feel like the kind you should just slip into, and rent later to watch with old memories of how terrified you were of getting caught. (:

I saw this movie today and it was bad. Really bad. There were at least twenty people in the the theater and I heard maybe three or four small laughs. The parts that tried to be funny were the parts from the commercials so we already knew what was going to happen. I don’t know why Jennifer Aniston is so famous. She’s hot, but she has no personality. I can’t think of one good movie she’s done. And Gerard Butler? He shouldn’t be in romantic comedies. They all suck. He curls his mouth sideways trying to lose the scottish accent and it sounds ridiculous. He is much better in action movies. I am warning you. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DVD. IF YOU WATCH IT, YOU WILL BE SORRY. If anything, rent it.
