HD Camcorder Q&A
What is the best HD camcorder for around $300 or maybe a bit more with the best optical zoom?
by High Definition on May.12, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
I want a camcorder with good quality, but nice optical zoom as well.
My cousin has an SDR-S26 Panasonic camcorder with 70x optical zoom, but it’s standard definition.
Why can’t companies make HD camcorders but with huge amounts of optical zoom like my cousin’s?
Thanks.
Should I buy an HD camcorder or a digital camera with HD video?
by High Definition on Apr.16, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
My friends and I want to make short films and I was look for any suggestions on any good cameras that can shoot in HD. I noticed a lot of people I know have been filming with a Canon 7D, but way too expensive. I’m looking to spend anything around $200. Iwas thinking of getting a Kodak z950. I really want to get a digital camera because the last camcorder I had was too noisy and would be noticable in our movies. Any good suggestions? I need this asap.

Is it better to stay with standard definition than switch to a HD camcorder?
by High Definition on Apr.01, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
I have about 500 gigabytes left on my external hard drive and I’m not sure whether or not to purchase an HD camcorder because HD will take up more space than standard definition.
I am looking for an HD Camcorder with a 1080p resolution and at least 50x optical zoom?
by High Definition on Mar.26, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
I am looking for an HD Camcorder with a 1080p resolution and at least 50x optical zoom, any suggestions please and can you tell me also the price ranges of a camcorder with these specs?
Thanks.
@ Nihal: not more than 650 euro its about 900$
@ Iridflare: Now I have the SONY DCR-SX40 and it has 60x zoom and 720p resolution and I am really enjoying this great zoom but the quality of the video still poor if we compared to a 1080p resolution camera.
@ Dana Bash: the Canon HF S10 is a Good camera but it has only10x O.Z.
@ Andrew: LoL I will think of it.
Well, exluding the 50x optical zoom option, can you tell me what is the 1080p resolution camcorder with the highest optical zoom now on market?
I am thinking of the JVC enverio GZ-HD300 and it has a 20x O.Z .

Can you recommend a wireless lapel microphone for an HD Camcorder?
by High Definition on Mar.14, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
We are having audio issues with our Panasonic HMC40P HD Camcorder. Some of our events are held in lecture halls and soft-spoken talkers are hard to hear on the video. We are purchasing a shotgun mic with adapter for the video camera, but we are also interested in wireless lapel mics.
Can anyone recommend a wireless mic? Please include a model number, if possible.
Thanks!
By the way, we are getting the adapter for the HD Camcorder; we are just looking into other options.
Is it possible to recover an HD movie recorded on a camcorder if the power was unplugged?
by High Definition on Mar.13, 2010, under HD Camcorder Q&A
I was recently video taping an event and someone kicked the power cord out from the outlet, which turned off the camera. This morning, when importing the videos, I noticed that the first 40 minutes was missing from the memory card.
Is there any way of finding the lost footage or do I need to hit the REC button for it to successfully save to the memory card? It is a Panasonic HD Camcorder. Thanks!
